I love weddings where two different cultures meet and mould into a happy celebration of the love that binds and the differences that give that unique flavour to each relationship. Eddie is from Hong Kong and Carly is from the UK. This was a ceremony replete with Chinese tradition and customs but set right in the middle of London!
I started with Carly and her best friend/ bridesmaid getting ready in London and then made our way to the registry. Once vows were exchanged and formalities out of the way we headed into the courtyard to celebrate and have some images. Before too long it was time for everyone to board the wedding bus so we could head to The Marylebone Bar for some drinks and - ice cream!
After sneaking off with Eddie and Carly for a few portraits, we made our way to Pheonix Palace. Upon entering, we we're amazed by the sea of red and gold decorations and I could smell that the guests were in for a great Chinese banquet. The tea ceremony was my favourite part - it is such a great way for guests, who sat in pairs opposite the newly weds, to share a special moment and wish the happy couple well - as you can see from the photos below it really does make for some fun moments!
