Whether you're a family of 2 or a family of 10, it’s always nice to have memories of your time together. It doesn't have to be for a special occasion - ‘just because’ is as good a reason as any! My sessions are relaxed and, especially if children are involved, FUN. I will often advise on roughly where to stand or sit depending on the best light and angles but will then let you do the rest... dance, hug, play or cringe at the little ones discovering what mud tastes like - the choice is yours!
I love family shoots and love photographing children. You may have found, like I have with my three, that getting them to sit still for mommy or daddy is nigh on impossible! Through my own experience, I’ve found that the little ones will often be more agreeable when someone else is behind the lens! I will bring some bubbles, balloons and have an array of games that I like to play to make the experience as enjoyable for them as possible. The session time is a guide rather than a limiting factor and we can be as quick - or not - as required.
My newborn sessions are a little different from most. I only use natural light and don't edit so that you can't tell one baby from the next. Your adorable little ones' features will be there for all to see - just as you love them. These can be done in my home or yours and I would advise allowing between two to four hours for settling, feeding and changing. I can provide a large variety of props such as headbands, wraps, blankets, baskets, etc. and would encourage you to let me know of any special requests or any particular keepsakes that you’d like incorporated as well. Typically, a newborn shoot is done within the first ten days of birth - although I encourage you to get in touch early I will always be flexible on short notice to accommodate your special star!
