GET IN TOUCH
I love that my job takes me to new and exciting places…. and this one was definitely no exception! When Tegan and Grant asked me to cover their wedding, I was overjoyed. I arrived in Byron Bay on a beautiful warm day, the day before their wedding. I walked around, saw the town a little and enjoyed the beach before getting some rest in order for a big day ahead.
On the morning of the wedding, I started with Grant, his best mates and his family. There were loads of laughs, and beers going around haha. I didn’t stay for long though as I needed to make my way to where Tegan was getting ready… but luckily that was only a few doors down the road.
Tegan was surrounded by her bridesmaids and I was made to feel so very welcome. They had hired an AirBnB right on the beach where we could see the ceremony area being prepped and guests arriving. This was slightly above Byron Bay at Belongil Beach.
Instead of walking straight from the house, a combi was waiting to take us to the public beach access area. It was a fun ride, jam packed with a bunch of excited ladies!
The ceremony was just gorgeous, especially Tegan’s walk down the isle with their son and her dad and wow, what a backdrop. Take a look below to see just how incredible the location was.
Afterwards, the bridal party jumped into the combi again and took a trip down to the railway tracks, just as the sun was setting. Time seemed to just speed by and before I knew it, it was time for the reception to begin at The Belongil.
My favourite part of the reception has got to be the first dance… or lack of! Instead of having a first dance, Tegan and Grant had a basketball ‘shoot-off’ – so much fun! The results are debatable but I think that Tegan might have slightly edged Grant out 😉
Sadly, my weekend away in Byron came to an end and I flew back the next day but here’s hoping someone else takes me on their wedding adventure soon.
