I first met with Jemma and Michael one cold evening in London and we clicked right away. When their wedding rolled around in February 2019, I was really excited to be spending the day photographing them and their loved ones.
The sun was shining and the weather – well, dare I say – warm! Great Fosters in Surrey lent a stunning backdrop to their wedding.
I started with Jemma and her bridesmaids, plus two step-daughters (to be!). It was fairly relaxed but a definite buzz of excitement was in the air. When everyone was ready, we walked downstairs to the ceremony… but not without a quick stop to the bar for a cheeky shot!
Michael and Jemma’s son were waiting at the base of the isle whilst she glided down the isle with her brother by her side. The ceremony was full of loving glances and nervous giggles. Before long, the two were husband and wife walking back down the isle together… whilst Michael tried to eat some of the confetti!
We really were blessed with the weather – perfect blue skies and pretty light which we made the most of. I asked Gemma and Michael to take a walk through the gardens as I asked like a ninja wedding photographer… sneaking around them whilst they hardly noticed. ** A few weeks after their wedding I received a beautiful thank you card which said that this time alone was one of their favourite parts of the day **
When the reception started, a magician popped up which had everyone in fits of laughter and amazement. I was confused by every trick that I saw! Before long it was time for the party to really begin. Everyone hit the dance floor… with feather boas, blow up flamingoes, trumpets etc.
