GET IN TOUCH
Its so lovely meeting local clients such as Adam and Ioana… so local in fact that they live on my street! When I first met Ioana, she arrived with her youngest little girl, and we chatted motherhood, life and of course, her wedding.
A few months later, the day of their wedding arrived. My husband who knows that I often leave an hour or two before I actually have to (I just can’t risk being late!) was starting to panic and kept saying “don’t you have a wedding today?” “Why haven’t you left yet?!” Truth is that I left at 9:55am and I was still early for a 10am start!
When I arrived at their home, Ioana was getting her hair and make up done as was her niece. Her parents, who she hadn’t seen together in years were also there getting ready for what was to come. Adam and Ioana’s oldest daughter soon arrived to have her hair done too and to get into her specially made flower girl dress.
At 11:30am, the little ones left with Ioana’s parents and her best friend arrived bringing with him a bag full of calming items (beers haha!). Ioana quickly put on her dress – which was unlike anything I have ever seen before – it looked so beautiful on her. It was short up the front and long at the back. Ioana’s legs were made for it!! Before long it was time to leave and head towards Pembroke Lodge.
When I arrived, I found Adam and his best mates relaxing in the garden and having a few beers of their own. When we could see Ioana arriving in the distance everyone was rushed in to the ceremony room.
I must say that their ceremony was one of the most emotionally charged ceremonies I have ever had the pleasure of photographing. There were tears of joy and loads of laughter. Soon, they said their “I dos” and everyone cheers whilst they departed the room.
It was such a beautiful, warm, summer day so everyone spent quite a bit of time outside in the sunshine. We went out twice for a few portraits, once shortly after the ceremony and once when the light was a lot lower and not quite as harsh. We found many beautiful places for images so take a look below for some Pembroke Lodge inspiration!
Speeches are one of my favourite things about a wedding and as expected (from their amazing ceremony), there were a lot of laughs and tears here too!
Once the DJ had set up, it was time to dance. Ioana chose to stick to tradition and have a dance with her new husband as well as with her father who flew in from Romania for the day. The wedding was an amazing day from start to finish.
