I joined Alex and Victoria on their wedding day at St Margarets Church – also known as ‘the church on Parliament Square,’ ‘the parish church of the House of Commons’ or simply the ‘little’ church within the grounds of Westminster Abbey. Its an absolutely beautiful church dating back to the 12th century. As an Australian the history truly boggles my mind!
Alex arrived looking very dapper and clearly very excited for what was about to happen. I heard through the grapevine that Victoria was sharing a beer or two at a nearby pub – and it was a perfect summer’s day for it!
Victoria was an absolute vision in her sequined gold dress and she really did glow walking down the isle to meet her groom. The two of them shared a warm embrace and a few tears of joy when they came face to face.
The service was very personal as the vicar of the school that they both teach at hosted the ceremony. The choir was made up of students from the school and many colleagues were in attendance.
When the service ended, everyone made their way out into the courtyard where Westminster Abbey provided the most gorgeous backdrop. We had a few quick group images before walking to nearby building The Sanctuary where an open topped red vintage bus (and bottles of prosecco) were waiting for the happy couple and their guests. Everyone boarded and we were taken on a little journey to East Dulwich Tavern.
Upstairs at the tavern, the room had been simply decorate with pretty, delicate flowers and fairy lights. Just lovely!
The speeches will forever go down as some of my favourites ever. Victoria’s, Alex’s, FOB as well as the bestman’s were all hilariously funny – I would even go as far as saying headbangingly so (see photos below!!). My day finished off by taking them out as the sun was falling to East Dulwich Park. We had a great time where the two of them were able to take some time out from their day and just enjoy being in each others arms – and I enjoyed capturing it!
