GET IN TOUCH
IF YOU’RE PLANNING A INTIMATE, OUTDOOR WEDDING, YOU’LL LOVE THIS WEDDING!
When Susan and Nigel first got in touch with me about their wedding, I was so excited – they were planning a relaxed outdoor wedding with an intimate ceremony and a lovely meal with friends and family for the reception. Susan and Nigel are the nicest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!
THE CEREMONY
The wedding took place at The Goat Paddock in Hunters Hill. I arrived to meet Nigel and his groomsmen putting the finishing touches on the ceremony location. I started by photographing him greet guests as they arrived but soon, Susan and her bridal party arrived. I headed up to see them and before long it was time for the ceremony to begin. They had a live singer, which was just magical – she had everyone in awe. After the ceremony they walked up the aisle together whilst everyone blew bubbles, and then the celebrations really began.
After the ceremony, the bridal party and I walked through the gardens at The Goat Paddock before ending up at the bottom where there are beautiful old train tracks, the water and huge rock faces. The perfect spot for photographs.
THE RECEPTION
The wedding reception took place at The Woolwich Pier Hotel, across the road from The Goat Paddock, which was beautifully decorated with fresh flowers and tea-light candles. It has views over Sydney and was the perfect place for a drinks reception.
TOP TIP FOR PLANNING A WEDDING
Make it about you and what you both love. Nigel and Susan had roving canapés throughout their drinks reception. They ended the evening with really heartfelt speeches – there was loads of laugher, and a few tears.
