What a wedding! Samantha and Laurence chose the stunning little English town of Henley on Thames to get married in as they both grew up in the area and enjoy rowing and cycling together there.
I arrived early to explore the town and to take in the atmosphere. There were rowers along the Thames, market goers in the main town and buskers in the streets. I made my way around to the Hotel du Vin to where Samantha was getting ready with her bridesmaids. Their hair and makeup had already been finished earlier in the morning and they were now laughing and enjoying their time together whilst eating a delicious looking platter!
When Samantha and her bridesmaids were ready, we set off to find Henley Town Hall. It was a beautiful little walk through the old laneways, church grounds and market place. There was also a whole lot of wind which found Samantha’s veil doing its own thing!
I will never forget the tears of joy that came upon Laurence as he saw Samantha walking down the isle towards him, with her mum by her side. It was a beautiful moment.
One of my favourite guests at the wedding was definitely their dog, a gorgeous greyhound who took in the ceremony like a champ!
After the ceremony, Laurence, Samantha and I ducked away for a bit to get a few portraits before getting back to their guests. Some of my favourite photographs from the day came from their unofficial first dance to that of a busker named Samuel Lloyd (well worth finding if ever in Henley). We then rejoined their family and friends at the Town Hall for drinks and some seriously epic confetti before walking across the bridge to The Little Angel Pub.
The pub was the perfect location for their reception, offering long tables and an awesome buffet. Later, the bank was incredible and had me bopping around on the dance floor!
