Jen & Max | Palm Beach, Sydney

Ahhh, Jen and Max…. Their story (with me) began in 2015 when they arrived in SW London for a 2 year stint. Whilst Max was a paramedic, Jen worked at a local nursery where my oldest two children went. It wasn’t long before Jen became our nanny and they both really became part of our family. I was devastated when they left me for a warmer climate and returned to Sydney but not before Max proposed in Italy en-route.

I couldn’t wait when they asked me to capture their Palm Beach, Sydney wedding. I packed my bags and swapped UK winter for Australian summer, well, for 4 days!

I met with Jen and Max the day before to walk around their chosen venue, Palm Beach Golf Club, and to give them some big hugs.

My day started with Jen in Collaroy where she was getting ready with her parents and 4 bridesmaids, including her sister. It was fairly relaxed with Bride Wars playing in the background! Soon enough, everyone was ready to make the journey to Palm Beach Golf Club.

When I arrived, it suddenly started bucketing down… but 5 minutes later when Jen arrived, the sun was out! The ceremony was held on the golf course just above the beautiful calm beach. It was decorated with lovely fresh flowers everywhere. The ceremony itself was emotional.. not just for Jen who shed a tear whilst walking down the isle accompanied by her father, but also for myself!

After the ceremony, guests were treated to drinks and canapés by the beach before heading towards the club house for the reception. Before Jen and Max joined them, we walked down the the sand for a few pictures.

The reception was awesome – I doubled up as a guest so was seated with another close friend and also their MC. One memorable part for myself was the dance. Not only did Jen and Max have a first dance but Jen also had a hilariously choreographed Father Daughter dance set to Aint No Mountain High Enough which came as a complete surprise to Max.

I can’t wait to return to Sydney in June 2019… if you are planning your wedding, get in touch!
