Relaxed Foodies Wedding at Hillfields Farm in West Berkshire | Josh & Hannah

January 28, 2019

When Josh and Hannah first got in touch about their wedding at Hillfields Farm in West Berkshire, I was super excited. I had a look online and saw horses – my favourite animals! The wedding didn’t disappoint, as I drove up the long driveway, there were beautiful horses everywhere.

Lets rewind a little bit first because I need to talk about where Hannah got ready. Wowsers. Friars Ford Country House Boutique Bed & Breakfast, in Goring is beautiful. For a moment it felt like we were in a French chateau! Hannah got ready with her bridesmaids, mum, niece and nephew around her. It was a wonderful atmosphere – very chilled. My fabulous second shooter, Chris, was with Josh, his dad, and his groomsmen getting ready at The Swan at Streatley.

Soon it was time to jump in the car for the short drive to Hillfields Farm. The couple married outside with one of their closest friends hosting the ceremony. Due to it being held by a friend it was one of the most personal ceremonies I have witnessed.

Once the ceremony was over, Josh and Hannah walked back up the isle whilst being showered with confetti. We quickly had some group shots so the celebrations could really begin.

Whilst their guests sipped champagne and downed fresh oysters from their oyster cart – such an awesome addition to a summer wedding – I took the happy couple for a short walk through the apple orchard, and horse paddocks before they too joined their guests.

The speeches were touching, especially when Hannah’s friends back in Canada put together a short video for everyone to watch. What really stands out about their reception is without a doubt, the food. Josh is a highly acclaimed chef and Hannah is a fabulous cheese maker (they even had a cheese station for guests to enjoy).

One more thing to mention… the cake. Oh my goodness, the cake. It was a full Croquembouche! It took me back to my days of watching Adriano Zumbo…. yum! Take a look below at their amazing wedding. I had so much fun photographing their relaxed farm wedding.
