When I woke up on the 3rd of March, I literally couldn’t believe my eyes… everything was covered in snow and not just a sprinkling! When Anne and Matt booked their early March wedding I think the possibility of having a white wedding never crossed their minds! Nevertheless they really embraced it.
I arrived at Woodlands Park Hotel to find Matt at the bar with with some mates and Anne getting ready with her bridesmaids. Despite what was ahead, there was a real sense of calm in the air. Before long we could hear the guests outside piling into two beautiful old London buses.
Soon after we too set off for Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Effingham. The service was touching and personal and warm (despite what was outside!). Once back at the hotel, guests enjoyed canapés and Champagne whilst listening to the talents of The Candy Girls.
I usually try to go outside for group photographs however on this occasion I found a nice comfy spot inside! Anne then swapped her Jimmy Choo’s for some wellies so that we could head outside in the snow. We had loads of fun before really needing to warm up.
Before long, the reception was underway. The speeches had everyone in tears and included a call from Anne’s brother overseas who was unable to attend.
Later, the dance floor was pumping under the hold of The Dukes of Havoc.
