I was first put in touch with Tony and Claire through Something To Look Forward To, a wonderful charity who helps improve the lives of those affected by cancer. I donate weddings through them and the beautiful Claire was planning a wedding…. it was just meant to be.
My morning started in the pretty little town of Thame in Oxfordshire. Claire was getting ready by herself until her best friend and son arrived to help. There was a minor panic moment when her dress was heavily creased but her eldest son saved the day by finding a laundromat able to press it just in time!
The ceremony and reception were held at Notley The Barn in Buckinghamshire. I arrived with enough time to see Claire arrive by a shiny black London cab! Tony was inside waiting for his bride who soon came gliding down the isle with her son by her side. It was such a beautiful moment.
Once Tony and Claire were officially wed, everyone headed outside for celebratory drinks. The clouds were thick overhead but that didn’t stop anyone! The happy couple and I jumped in the cab and headed up the hill for a few photographs in the fields.
When we made it back down to the barn, we were ushered inside for the reception to begin. First up it was speeches. The speeches were some of the most touching ones I have ever heard. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room.
The celebrations continued well into the night and I bet the dance floor was packed long after I left!
